Savvas Stones

I'm a Software Engineer based in Cyprus, focused on Game Development, with experience spanning on Gameplay Systems, Networking & large-scale real-time environments.

My work blends hands-on Engineering with a production mindset, shaped by experience across both the Games Industry & broader software systems. I thrive in collaborative settings, valuing clear communication and teamwork to bring complex projects to life.

I studied Computer Science with an early focus on PC hardware, which initially shaped my professional path. I've always been passionate about Games, from a very young age, not only as a Player but I was also curious about how systems work beneath the surface. My transition into Software Development began after creating a game mod that gained sifnificant traction, sparking a deeper interest in Programming & System design.

This experience led to a deliberate shift towards Game Development, where I began building a strong technical foundation through focused learning, experimentation, & professional work. Across my career, I've worked on a wide range of systems, from gameplay features & A.I. Behavior, to automation services & Cloud-based workflows. I've contributed to production environments deployed across major cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure & GCP, supporting live updates, scalabiliity & operational reliability.

This combination of Game Development, real-time multiplayer systems & production software has shaped how I approach Engineering problems, placing emphasis on robustness, scalability, & long-term maintainability.
